Clay provides this profound and organic connection between human skin, centrifugal force, and the body of earth. When my hands touch clay, I am no longer the creator, but rather a collaborator of the material; reduced from a body and mind with busy thoughts and messy words into two simple hands and breath that is released through my fingertips. It is no longer I who holds the power, but rather the earth. It chooses what it shall be and my hands merely guide its body to dance.
