Alison Kendall is a mixed media artist and designer living in Fairfax, CA. Her work is inspired by many years spent working along the rocky shores of western North America cataloging the biodiversity of seaweeds and invertebrates in and along the ocean. These experiences illuminated the rich complexity of natural systems, and compelled her to question how the patterns in nature intersect with those in human-designed systems. Are the insights found in one applicable to the other? Can these questions help us connect seemingly unrelated points together, and what happens when connection are lost?
