Fairfax Art Walk | Fairfax Recreation Community Services, Arts and Culture

This program was developed by Fairfax Parks and Recreation under the leadership of Anne Mannes as part of the initiative to develop and highlight the role of the arts in Fairfax. Our featured artists come from all disciplines including painting and visual arts, maker arts, music, dance, and the written word. Artists partner with and show their work at area businesses and merchants central to downtown for this annual event. Family-friendly, we also feature a scavenger hunt. Participants can enter to win prizes provided by our area businesses and merchants.

The Fairfax ArtWalk was originally conceived of by Stephanie Mohan and Georgia Gibbs, the 2017 Fairfax Artists in Residence, as a way to highlight the arts in our community and the versatility of our local businesses. The Fairfax Art Walk continues to develop and grow and is still one of the key ‘gifts’ by the Artist in Residence to the community of Fairfax and beyond. We are building some exciting partnerships with Fairfax Volunteers and the Chamber of Commerce, among others, to bring the community art programs and events.
